Smith Georges- Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Son of a prominent Haitian artist, Duclavier Georges (Leconte). Smith is an accomplished artist. He started painting and sculpting at the age of 7. Smith attended Foyer Des Arts Plastics, a fine Haitian Art School. In U.S.A. Smith attended La Guardia College (Accounting Major/Degree), Baruch College (Accounting Major) and New York Tech College where he majored in Architectural Design. He uses all types of mediums such as wood, marble, metal, leather, stone, water color collage, acrylic and oil on canvas. His style is influenced by his father's modern and surrealistic sculptures. His work has also been on exhibit at leading art galleries troughout Haiti, at World Trade Art Gallery and Mehu Gallery in the United States and in several private exhibitions. His work has been published in Time magazine, college textbook, and other distinguished publications. Smith's paintings and sculptures are in private collections in Haiti, U.S.A. and several caribbean and european countries. Among the collectors of his artworks are President Bill Clinton, President Jean Bertrand Aristide, actor Danny Glover, and singer/entertainer Wyclef Jean. Smith plays guitar and composes French songs. The trauma that he experienced in the World Trade Center tragedy has prompted him to start working on a project the very next day. A project that has engaged people in the U.S.A. and around the world to share their thoughts in wrting and in their own language about 9/11. He is currently writing a book.

It was the Soccer World Cup Competition (FIFA 1974). June 15, 1974: Haiti 1- Italy 0 (after 46 minutes) - Ti Manno of Haiti was the first soccer player to penetrate the virgin nets of Dino Zoff. Haiti shocked the world. Zoff managed to keep his net immaculate, and was believed to be invincible from 1972 until Ti Manno put an end to that myth on June 15, 1974. Final socre: Haiti 1- Italy 3
