Subject: How it starts ! How do we get where we are ! The truth is a light that shines
Dear: Friends of Dr Guy
It all starts that way :
One day , we happened to pass thru NY and 4 people contacted us to talk about being the personality that everyone was looking for : someone credible , clean . serious , man of his words ,someone who has realized outstanding works for the people in Haiti and they feel that this person to make a change and run the country is Dr Theodore.
We met somewhere in the suburb of NY , started making plan on how to run a campaign
Notice that the idea of running for President came from those 4 people even though that I endorsed their idea.
The real truth is that everyone of those 4 started pitching their own money to start the new adventure
Along the way . I would have to pitch in also and it even happened that Modelh had to send to them at NY , at one time US $ 5,000.00 dollars to help out paying for DVDs . as the 4 in NY did not have money then
That is how was born the group in NY , called then Friends of Dr Guy Theodore in NY
Soon , the people of Miami created Friends of Dr Guy in Miami followed by the creation of Friends of Dr Guy Theodore in Canada. Those 3 groups were making PR meeting and locally were raising fund
Suddenly the group of Friends of Dr Guy Theodore in NY mutated to a different called Name , Friends of Haiti 2010 Inc and it incorporated itself in the State of NY as an Autonomous International Civic Organization
No one was consulted when this organization was formed , neither we ever were a Founder member or even a member of this organization.
The Founder Members came from the group of 4 , as mentioned in their bylaws .
They continued to collect money for the so called campaign but , the Party in Haiti never received any report , neither cash money and was never involved in any decision making It was never implicated in strategy orientation on how to use the collected money which we never know how much was collected or even see a receipt of what was bought .. Pins , DVDs , Flyers were made with the works of the candidate .We never know and they never account with anyone of how much money they collected and how it was spent and they never sit and plan any activity with the advise of the candidate
People who contributed were calling about their contribution but we could not answer as our lawyer told us we had no right as people were contributing to an independent organization fully registered as an autonomous civic organization with their regular Board in the State of NY
Another problem is that the group of 4 wanted to be the sole political advisers to the candidate and wanted to be the only quatro to run the campaign. This could never meet the expectation of the candidate who always want a large and wide group of Consultants and Advisers to guide him in decision and policy making
They attributed that as if the candidate refuses to get their advises.
Needless to say that our Legal adviser who is a lawyer researched the law and find out and advised us not to accept anymore the group of 4 to make fundraising under our name and legally no organization who has multiple activities can raise fund for a campaign as people who contribute would never be able to be sure in what of those activities their money is invested in, specially when the fundraiser refuses to account for what is contributed to him. Organization that can raise money for campaign is an organization that has only one and sole purpose of performing only the activity :of fundraising and the money has to be delivered directly to the Campaign Treasurer.
So Friends of Dr Guy in Canada , Ny and Miami , you are still free to continue your Fund raising activities as long as you connected directly to the Oversea Campaign Treasurer after the fund is raised
On our legal advise , on October 19 , 2009 , we had a meeting in NY where the initial 4 participated and it was concluded that a New Campaign Committee be formed and all the groups present at the meeting were proposing some members to become part of the new Oversea Campaign Committee
This is how some of FOH 2010 Inc become part of the new Campaign Committee.
We could feel there were resentment among some of the quatro but we continue to invite them to be part of the new committee as the idea of the Candidacy were originally theirs
No one could not have the least idea that FOH 2004 Inc were going to send their Representative in Haiti to the Party with the idea of asking the Party to accept under its umbrella 64 candidates for Deputes and Senateurs and he wanted to have an Alliance agreement with the party with 2 conditions:
1 ) FOH 2010 Inc requires to have the power divided 50 /50 or half of the Ministers and half of the General Directors should go to them once the Candidate is elected
.
2 ) The party would have to pay for each of their Depute candidate the 50,000.00 gourdes required by the Government and 100,000.00 gourdes for the Senators candidates As per the CEP , this money is mandatory before a candidate is put on the ballot
As they required to share the power half and half the Party negociators ask FOH 2010 Representative that he shares also half of the cost of the Elections running which might go up to 10 millions of dollars : he acceptsto give 5,2 millons of US dollars
The draft of the contract was made and presented to him
When he said he is ready to sign , the party asks for the money of Registration of the candidates ( around 3 millions 400 milles gourdes ou US $ 85,000.00 dollars )
The Representative of FOH said that his FOH organization disposes of the money in NY as the Head of FOH in NY assured him
No need to tell you that the Party in Haiti never believed him as he was probably misled and no alliance was signed
Then come reaction of FOH that we do not want to talk about and you probably had seen their letters of resignation
As you can see from this e-mail , we keep our cool and respect the other side even when we never received any cash money at any time from them , even after many funds raising that they organize either in NY , Boston etc
On the other hand the Party received US $ 5, 000.00 dollars after a fund raising organized by Friends of Dr Guy in Miami ; US $ 7,230.00 dollars after a fund raising organized in Long Island by a Member of Friends of Dr Guy in NY ; US $ 1700.00 dollars after a fund raising in Canada.
To you , our supporters keep your cool : the campaign is well , alive and progressing in Haiti
We had registered with the CEP 40 Candidats pour Deputes and 5 Candidats pour Senateurs to go to elections on February 28 , 2010. We had already signed alliance with 2 political parties and many others are looking for agreement with us because of our reputation of being reliable , transparent and clean as strong decision maker and keeper.
There is no way we could accept to collaborate with whom is not open and transparent
